Fatal Crash Closes Lanes

One Dead, Highway 401 Westbound Lanes Closed

A fatal collision on Highway 401 near Ingersoll has claimed the life of one person and closed westbound lanes for several hours.

The collision occurred on Tuesday, with a westbound commercial vehicle losing two of its wheels. The wheels then struck an eastbound vehicle, causing a serious crash.

Emergency services responded to the scene and pronounced one person dead. Several other people were injured and transported to area hospitals.

The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for several hours while police investigated and crews cleaned up the wreckage. The eastbound lanes were also temporarily closed to allow for the airlifting of an injured driver.

The collision has resulted in significant delays and traffic disruptions in the area. Motorists are advised to avoid the area or find alternate routes.
